Èké in Yoruba speaking language from Nigeria means gossip. This painting is a representative of the pleasure women get while having their hairdo done, it comes with gossips, chuckles and laughters of mockeries. Most African ladies, Nigerias to be precise, are guilty of this because it's more like a way of having a humorous atmosphere, and some hair stylist say it makes their work faster and at same time reduces the pain be felt on the person making her hair.
It's something I can resonate to because I'm an African lady.
