And the Wall Comes Tumbling Down

It is inevitable, at least for me, that each crisis personal or communal, will be translated into my artwork. My paintings, mixed media projects, and, sculpture frequently reflect my responses to what is going on in the larger world.

I have been distressed by the plight of refugees/immigrants around the world for many years. One way in which Donald Trump exacerbated the misery of immigrants on this continent was his emphasis on the construction of “The Wall” along the southern border of the U.S.. His obsession with it’s construction led to my series of mixed media works, “And the Wall Comes Tumbling Down”. I see tearing walls down as a form of standing up to them and to those who built them.
