Transformative Action Project and Violence Transformed invite you to hear the powerful new song with accompanying lyric video “Say Her Name (Hell You Talmbout),” by eight-time Grammy award nominee Janelle Monáe. The single features AAPF (African American Policy Network) Executive Director Kimberlé Crenshaw, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Chlöe x Halle, Tierra Whack, Isis V., Zoë Kravitz, Brittany Howard, Asiahn, Mj Rodriguez, Jovian Zayne, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Alicia Garza, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, and Angela Rye.
With the song and accompanying lyric video, this collective of artists and activists hopes to place a spotlight on Black women killed by the police. Proceeds from the single and the video will support AAPF and the #SayHerName Mothers Network.
With the help of fellow Black women recording artists and activists, the powerful 17-minute song and lyric video honors the stories of the victims and survivors of these police killings. “We support the tireless work that #SayHerName has been doing for years to help bring these mothers justice for their daughters,” said Monaé. “This work is too important to do alone and can only be sustained through our collective voices. We take up this call to action as daughters ourselves trying to create a world where stories like these are no longer commonplace.”
Join us in making this anthem a clarion call to be heard around the world! Please take five minutes right now to download the song and share the powerful video on all your social media platforms.
