About This Exhibition

From February 26 - March 24, 2018 Cambridge College will host Violence Transformed for a 4th year with an exhibition of art that reflects on the impact of guns and gun violence. Urban gun violence touches on issues central to American life: safety, equality, opportunity, and community. Residents and leaders of America’s cities face few challenges more urgent than gun violence. It takes thousands of lives, depresses the quality of life of whole neighborhoods, and it reflects America’s existing racial and economic disparities.

The work of participating artists imagine alternatives to violence and give expression to themes of protest, refuge, survival, healing and commemoration. This exhibition underscores Cambridge College’s commitment to promote awareness and to address the issue of violence, in the communities we serve and live in.
