Mark-Making and Journaling: Pathways of Healing

This workshop was made available to health and mental health providers who have offered or are offering assistance to individuals, families and communities affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

The art-making process included individual and collaborative drawing exercises using spontaneous mark-making and getting in touch with personal vocabulary of abstract lines. Large collaborative drawings will be the focal point for demonstrating the power of personal marks and the wonder of collective enterprise.

Personal journals and miniature accordion books will be used to give time for individual art-making and story-telling, important forms of expression.
